1. Introduction

BibleTime is a Bible study program for KDE. It is based on SWORD, a library which provides functions to view Bible text, commentary, and lexicon modules, write personal comments, and etc.

There are different types of modules:

1.1 Changes

1.2 ToDo

There's much we have planned! We plan to include sound support and much more! If you have suggestions about how to improve BibleTime, please take the time to send your comments to info@bibletime.de. Ideas for improvements, bug reports, and even criticism are welcome!

The next version of BibleTime will be based on KDE 2. We switch to KDE 2 because it contains more useful widgets, better widgets (like the HTML widget), support for MDI (Multi Document Interface), etc. KDE 2 is at this this time called unstable, but we think the libs are stable enough to use them for development. The next version of BibleTime will contains lots of new features, it will probably completely redesigned. Please post now your ideas for BibleTime to include them into the version for KDE2. The next BibleTime will use probably use the upcoming SWORD 1.5x which will contain lots of new features, too. SWORD 1.5x will probably have support for international book names, support for maps ...

For a more current report about things we want to implement see the file "TODO" in the top directory of the distribution.

But if there is demond for it we will release from time to time bug-fix releases for KDE 1.1.x.

1.3 Motivation

The goal of the BibleTime development team is to produce the most powerful and easy to use Bible study software available for Linux or any other operating system.
