The Kermit Project has contracted with e-academy.com in Ottawa (Ontario, Canada)
to provide automated Internet sale and delivery of Kermit 95, including a
full-featured 21-day downloadable trial version. The new service is
available here:
http://www.e-academy.com/kermit
Note that:
- The K95 version delivered by e-academy is presently 1.1.21
(the one which includes SSH and FTP, but is available only in a Console
version). Work is in progress on making version 2.0 available.
- You can download a 1.1.21 trial version if you wish, and you will
still be able to download a 2.0 trial version when it is available.
(At first this was not true; now it is.)
- Both the secure and regular versions are available. The secure
version includes the new SSH v1/v2 client.
- The secure version is available in most countries. The restricted
countries are Iraq, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and Cuba.
By treaty, the same export restrictions apply
when distributing from Canada as when distributing from the USA.
- Electronically delivered copies have no physical component --
no packaging, no shipping, no CDs. C-Kermit is not included, nor
is the C-Kermit manual. For this reason, electronically delivered
copies from e-academy are heavily discounted.
- e-academy's prices will rise as soon as
they begin delivering K95 2.0.
- If you purchase K95 1.1.21 from e-academy and install it, you can
upgrade to K95 2.0 at no extra cost:

for details.
Therefore:
- The cheapest way to purchase Kermit 95 2.0 is to purchase version 1.1.21
from e-academy now, before the price goes up, and then
apply the upgrade.
