Begin4 Title: fcron Version: 3.0.6 Entered-date: 2010-04-05 Description: Fcron is a powerful replacement for the vixie-cron package. It's advanced scheduler and fine-grained configuration options make it a powerful tool for the automation-minded sysadmin. However it is easy enough to use and configure, that even a beginning Linux administrator can quickly pick it up. It is fully backwards compatible with vixie-cron scripts, however it's true power comes from it's own fcrontab format. It will permit you to use correctly a scheduler on a system which is running neither all the time nor regularly : you can, for instance, tell fcron to execute tasks every x hours y minutes of system up time or to do a job only once in a specified interval of time. You can also set a nice value to a job, run it depending on the system load average and much more !
