"Amadeus 1.41 is a program that allows to manipulate, create
and generate sounds on Macintosh. It provides not only most
of the common features like filtering, echoing, mixing, and
so on but also more original tools like the easy elimination
of "cracks", the possibility of generating very precise
sonograms and spectrum analyses, the generation of complex
sounds with the help of waveform libraries for example.
It is a FAT binary, so it will work more efficiently on
a PowerMacintosh but should also work on the older machines.
It requires system 7.1 or later and works under MacOS 8.0 and
8.1"

Subject: [*] Anarchie Retry 1.0
It is a file which is a simple AppleScript which tries
to log the user into a busy FTP site. It's easy to use, with good
instructions, and is a much more user friendly than other products which
do the same job.
It's freeware (or postcardware if the user deems that necessary).
An email confirming the file being placed on the InfoMac archives would
be great. As well, an email directing me on how to order InfoMac
archives backup CD-ROM's would be especially helpful!
Yours truly,
Eric Zhou

This is the Japanese version of the ArchiveCM package.
ArchiveCM is a contextual menu plugin that uses Aladdin Systems' StuffIt Engine
to display the contents of a StuffIt archive in the submenus of a contextual
menu. Drop it on your System Folder (it will be routed to the Contextual Menu
Items folder) and restart. When you control-click on a StuffIt archive, the
contextual menu will have a submenu called Archive, which lists the contents of
the archive. Select an item from the submenu to UnStuff it.

Subject: [*] CombiStat 1.1
CombiStat is a programme that performs two useful mathematical procedures
involving standard errors of the mean (SEM). Its main use is for combining
several Mean +/- SEM values into an overall Mean +/- SEM. This is a frequent
requirement for researchers repeating an experiment several times, each time
obtaining a Mean +/- SEM for the parameter(s) under study. Additionally, in
version 1.1 the programme will calculate the SEM and standard deviation of
both the ratio (X1/X2) and the product (X1*X2) of two independent variables,
X1 and X2, each having an associated SEM. For more information see the
accompanying Read me file.
CombiStat should run on any Mac and has been tested with System 7.6.1 and 7.5.3
The programme is freeware.

Digital Wipeout 1.1 - is a shareware game for Mac OS in which the object
is to score as many points as possible by "wiping out" numbers on the
board. There may be up to eight players. If you play alone, try to set
a new record by wiping out the the entire board. Each turn starts by
rolling the three dice. You need to then try to wipe out a number on
the board by mathematically combining the three dice using one or more
of the four basic operations (addition, subtraction, division, and
multiplication). Digital Wipeout is a fun game for people of any age!
Requires Mac OS 7.0 or higher and 512K RAM. Color monitor recommended.

I'm a french student in an engineering school for computers and
electronics. I'm also fond of Macintosh, so I spend some time for
programming.
I join one of my creations.
It is a cheap font utility shareware that scans a folder (not
necessarily "System Folder:Fonts") and displays its fonts. It implements
a full drag and drop interface. One of its most interesting features is
also its ability to download the fonts that have been selected. Of
course I'm not a professionnal programmer, but VisualFont may be much
better than some of the fonts utility shareware I saw, that were often
not handy. I did an extended error checking and a quite good memory
management. Since some monthes of testing and developing it has never
crashed: it is stable.

Here is version 1.1.0 of ][2Mac.
][2Mac is a set of 3 applications, 1 for the Mac and 2 for the Apple-][,

The floppy-image is stored on the Mac in a format that is recognized by
IIe, the Apple //e emulator for the Mac, written by Victor and Vincent Tan
(see: http://www-personal.usyd.edu.au/~vtan/sw/index.html).
One of the users of ][2Mac even reported, that he has successfully
transferred DOS 3.3-, ProDOS- as well as Pascal-formatted disks from
his Apple //GS to his Mac, and that he is using the diskimages now
in the //GS emulator called 'Bernie ][ the Rescue'
(see: http://www.magnet.ch/emutech/Bernie/).
This version obsoletes all previous versions that have been made available in
the Info-Mac archives (http://hyperarchive.lcs.mit.edu/Recent-Summary.html)

MacAttack is a fast-paced arcade game only available on (you guessed it)
the Mac. The game plays similar to the classic arcade game "Tempest".
However, the graphics have been updated substantially. Version 1.97
fixes several minor bugs (and a serious one that may cause crashes in
version 1.95) and improves registration handling.
MacAttack is fun for players of all skill levels. There are 5 difficulty
settings and unlike most games they significantly affect the way the
game is played. With this download you can only play 3 levels of the
game until you send in the shareware fee of $15. When you send in the
fee you'll get a password to unlock all 30 levels of the game. For more
info and to order the game visit our web page:

Features:
* Full-screen play on any Monitor. MacAttack will scale to the size of

Subject: [*] Macintosh Application Development Essentials 1.1
MADE is a tiny package of C/C++ code which provides all the lowest-level
needs for a Macintosh application. It is designed for people who are
learning, or know how to program Macs, but don't have the time, energy or
desire to write basic menu, event, memory and error handling routines.
Despite its small size, MADE includes several features specifically
designed to help the development process; allowing potential crashes to be
caught before testing, and various methods to turn intermittent errors
into ones that happen every time (perhaps you think that's a bad idea!)
The other three areas in which MADE helps are AppleEvents, the Drag
Manager
and modeless dialog boxes. Despite the fact that some projects won't need
these, they can be tricky to implement so they're in as switchable
options.
Version 1.1 adds optional modeless dialog support, and uses the new
OS function names. Macintosh Application Development Essentials is
shareware.

system depends on the devices being locked down.
(Think of this as losening the lug nuts on a car -- the wheel might
not fall off...)

Subject: [*] Nu Sans PostScript font 8.1 - a scalable Espy Sans!
Nu Sans version 8.1; January 28, 1998; by Marty P. Pfeiffer at Scooter
Graphics.
Nu Sans is a font family that brings Apple Computer's "Espy Sans" bitmap font to
the printed page.
Features:
--Much nicer printed appearance than any previous version of Nu Sans
--The registered version allows you to select Nu Sans-Bold as your
default system font.
--Hand-tuned bitmaps for the 9,10,12,14 and 18 pts sizes of each font
--You can use Nu Sans at any point size--without getting the jaggies.
--The registered version also includes bold, italic and bold
italic--great for web browsing.
--Nu Sans, with it's high x-height, is a very readable font, on-screen
and on the printed page
--Nu Sans and Nu Serif go great together :-) (Nu Serif is a separate font
family available from my web site)
About the Nu Sans font family:
Nu Sans is based on Apple Computer's "Espy Sans" bitmap font. Espy Sans is
a font
designed by Apple's Human Interface people for easy readability on computer
screens. This bitmap font is also used by the Newton and comes with the Newton
Toolkit as well as the Newton Toolkit Demo (part of "Programming for the Newton"
by McKeehan and Rhodes).
Now you can use Espy Sans on your printer as well. I was fascinated by the
towering x-height and easy readability of this font when I first started using
eWorld. Then the font showed up again in Greg Landweber & Ed Voas' "Aaron"
system
extension to update the look of your Mac. I had been designing fonts for awhile
and so I decided to take on the challenge of making a printer font out of a
bitmap. Driven by a need to use Nu Sans as a general, all-purpose font, I
created
an Italic and Bold Italic. I have many users who swear by Nu Sans as the default
font for their web browsers :-)
Improvements in version 8.1: --completed the entire character set (even those
characters you may never use). --Modified the outlines to make them more
"Espy"-ish. --Hand-tuned all the bitmap sizes for easy legibility in any
language.

Subject: [*] PopChar Pro 1.1
This is PopChar Pro version 1.1.
PopChar Pro is the successor of the freeware control panel PopChar Lite
by Guenther Blaschek.
PopChar Pro extends your menu bar with a menu that shows all characters
available in the current font. Select a character from that menu to "type"
it into the currently edited text.
New in version 1.1:
Problems fixed:
* In languages other than English, the Layout Editor's menu bar appeared
with a wrong spacing in some situations.
* The floating window's contents did not always reflect changes made in the
Layout Editor.
* The selection of characters within the menu was wrong by one pixel.
* Character #128 didn't appear in the Layout Editor.
* The keyboard equivalents of some characters couldn't be found.
New features:
* PopChar Pro now "speaks French" (thanks, Michel Touchot!).
* Virtual PC is now supported.
* PopChar Pro now comes with a new font "PC Font" for use with Virtual PC
and SoftWindows.
* Layouts can now contain up to 500 characters (previously 255).
* If a character can be generated with more than one keyboard combination,
PopChar Pro now displays the SIMPLEST way to produce the character.
Regular keys are now shown as "x", keys on the numeric keypad as [x].
* A new checkbox in the font configuration dialog allows the inclusion of
control characters (those with an ASCII code <32). Control characters
appear in red in the character table and in the Layout Editor.
* PopChar Pro now appears with the new white-on-black logo.
* The installer now remembers the serial number.
The serial number will not be needed for future updates on the same computer.
* The Installer now installs a folder "PopChar Pro f" without a version number.
This folder will be reused for future upgrades (instead of creating a new
folder each time).
PopChar Pro is distributed by UNI SOFTWARE PLUS. This submission contains the
PopChar Pro Installer that will ask for a serial number. If you don't have a
serial number, the installer will create a full-featured but time-limited demo.

Subject: [*] Super Othello 2.3.2 -- Othello for the Mac
Super Othello is an implementation of Othello, or Reversi, for the Mac.
It lets you play against a human opponent, your Mac or watch the Mac play
against itself. You can choose from eight different levels of
intelligence, ranging from beginner to super intelligent. Super Othello
will also let you save and log your games. If you are unfamiliar with the
game and its rules, Super Othello comes with an online tutorial which
takes you through the basic concepts of flipping chips.
This new version of Super Othello lets you see legal moves, undo moves,
and comes with new 3D-rendered 16- and 8-bit graphics. Version 2.3.2
fixes a few bugs, and adds a new intelligence level. The new intelligence
level, called Experimental, is recursive, meaning that it attempts to
think forward.
Super Othello requires any Mac or compatible (an 030 processor is
recommended) equipped with 1800kb of RAM, a display capable of displaying
atleast 256 colors and approximately 1,6 mb of diskspace. Super Othello
is fully compatible with MacOS 8, and is optimized for PowerMacs. Super
Othello is $15 shareware, for more information, see the Read Me.
If you already have Super Othello 2.3 or 2.3.1, you can download a patch
that will update your current copy to 2.3.2 from the Yellow Lemon

Subject: [*] SuperReplace 1.0.1; a text conversion utility
Announcing the release of SuperReplace 1.0.1 ! SuperReplace is a
powerful text conversion utility.
[Why?] There are many text file formats in the world of computers, and
we often need to convert one format into another. Usually it simply
means replacing one string by another. Of course some text editors
provide this possibility with "find and replace" commands. But with
those commands it is almost impossible to perform a complicated
multi-replacement conversion.
[What's it?] SuperReplace is a powerful application for creating text
conversion utility, called "Filter". To use filter to do the conversion,
just drag and drop input text files onto the filter icon under
Finder. The syntax of filter is very easy to understand.
[Easy to use] Using a bi-style editor, it doesn't use any special
character unlike classical system. You can write " \ CR and TAB directly
in your filter. An assistant helps you to edit filter. Non programmers
as well as programmers can use it very easily.
[Powerful] Very fast. Replace strings. Search regular
expression(pattern). Insert variables in the output text files.
Preferences for selecting input files.
[Examples] SuperReplace can be used for reformating HTML file. You have
saved a web page from Netscape as TEXT or as HTML, but you don't like
the file format: The accents are missing for french accent letters, the
format isn't compatible with your database or your text editor, you need
to extract only a few lines, or any PC/Mac/Unix file format problem,
multi-columns problem, tabulation and space problems...
For more information, please read the Tutorial file enclosed,

Subject: [*] V&N Lookup 1.2.2 - dictionary, spellchecker, word-translator
'V&N Lookup' is an easy-to-use program that puts dictionary-power at your

'Verbs&Nouns'. You can use 'V&N Lookup' while you are working with other
