Title: mplayer-1.0pre8cvs.uci Description: MPlayer-CVS mencoder transcode ffmpeg lame oggvorbis vorbistools vobcopy oggmtools xvid. Version: MPlayer + mencoder dev-CVS-060515 Author: See websites below Original-site: http://www.mplayerhq.hu Copying-policy: GNU GPL -----==[ Color = green Filesize: 30M ]==----- Extension-by: WDef Comments: Recent CVS build of MPlayer with mencoder, the current stable transcode suite, ffmpeg (CVS), vobcopy, lame, oggvorbis, oggmtools, and stuff. A powerful, up-to-date media toolkit. May even work, no promises. _ Compiled on dsl with support enabled for libmp3lame, xvid, and oggvorbis wherever applicable. _ MPlayer notes ============= _ Other Versions: transcode-1.0.2 ffmpeg-CVS-060515 libdvdread-0.9.6 lame-3.97b2 libogg-1.1.3 libvorbis-1.1.2 vorbis-tools-1.1.1 xvidcore-1.1.0 vobcopy-1.0.0 mpeg2dec-0.4.0b oggmtools-1.5 _ And their respective websites: http://www.transcoding.org http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net http://freshmeat.net/projects/libdvdread http://www.mp3dev.org http://www.xiph.org/ogg http://www.xiph.org/vorbis http://www.xvid.org http://mpeg2.sourceforge.net http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/ogmtools/index.html _ If you have an old codecs.conf file from mplayer.dsl, replace it. There are new configuration files, examples and docs in /opt/mplayer-1.0pre8cvs/doc _ No problems playing dvds in fullscreen from the command line (no config file) with: _ $ mplayer -vo x11 -zoom -fs -cache 8192 -alang en dvd://1 _ You might need a different track number/language. Getting the config file right on my widescreen laptop for playing dvds from the GUI in fullscreen proved trickier. After deleting gui.conf (it will get remade), only this worked: _ vo=x11 fs=no zoom=yes cache=8192 monitoraspect=16:9 #- sets zoom size to fullscreen display resolution x=1280 y=800 alang=en _ Touching the f key with this setting froze my display. Your options may be different - RTFM. _ To play avi files that were not encoded with black borders and get correct letterbox widescreen, I move this config file out the road and use the same command line options as for dvd:// above. YMMV. _ Essential keyboard controls (many others): _ 0-9 volume -> forward <- rewind m mute _ Add this to your /opt/bootlocal.sh: _ echo 1024 >/proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq _ NOTES: 1. Does not contain libdvdcss. 2. No support for mjpegtools or x264 yet. 3. Headers for lame etc left in place for use in other builds. 4. Mencoder was compiled with libavformat enabled. _ Change-log: Current: 2006/05/23 - First Version
