ispell: ispell (an interactive spelling checker)

ispell: Ispell is a fast screen-oriented spelling checker that shows you
ispell: your errors in the context of the original file, and suggests possible
ispell: corrections when it can figure them out.  Compared to UNIX spell, it
ispell: is faster and much easier to use.  Ispell can also handle languages
ispell: other than English. Ispell comes with English dictionaries. Ispell is
ispell: used by SIAG Office.  If you have installed siag you will want this
ispell: package as well.

ispell: Ispell is a very old program.  The original was written in PDP-10
ispell: assembly in 1971, by R. E. Gorin.  The C version was written by
ispell: Pace Willisson of MIT.  Walt Buehring of Texas Instruments added
ispell: the emacs interface and posted it to the net.  Geoff Kuenning
ispell: added the international support and created the current release.
ispell: Ken Stevens has maintained the Emacs interface (ispell.el) for
