Add a laugh-track to your day with a colorful "circuit board" whose animated "chips" tell jokes (using funny Mac voices) and laugh on cue. You can hear random jokes, choose your favorite kinds, even use jokes or laughter for an alarm clock or "sanity-saver"! Take your pick from 7 joke categories (e.g. knock-knocks and puns), 7 laugh categories (e.g. happy or demented), 12 voices (e.g. Bubbles or Victoria). Lots of great computer and other nerdy jokes, but also jokes for kids in their own category. This free demo has 30 jokes. (You can also buy the full version with a 762-joke database.) * Set up desktop icons with your own preferences--double-clicking any icon will play one joke and/or laugh from your chosen categories, then exit the program. * Save your sanity with jokes and laughter on tap. * Star in your own standup comedy routine, with a laugh-only icon as your delighted audience. * Lure co-workers to see your computer "doing something funny"--then try to get them to go back to their own boring desks. Spoke to our ISP today and he told me that some virus is around which tries to do bad things to NT-based servers. It first tries to enable the "guest" account, then gives that guest account administrator privileges and then the back door is wide open. But I think none of the Mac-based applications implement anything near to an NT server, so you'll be fine. Best wishes, Christian. -- Christian F. Best guess is to look on older magazine CDs for Eudora (I have a "collection" of those which came with the German "MacMagazin" before it was taken over by MacUp Verlag). However, I cannot look before the week-end. But does it need to be Eudora? I had the same "problem" with a Powerbook 150 on which I needed to install a mail application. I did a "search" (on versiontracker, I think), and found Musashi being cheap and quite usable. Allows you to use more than one mail address (like Eudora Pro), and doesn't cost a fortune. Works great on that old Powerbook. So unless you have specific reasons why only Eudora should be used there, I recommend Musashi. Best wishes, Christian. -- Christian F. Under 9.2.1 I was always capable of setting things right again, but now I am stumped... It seems that my son played some games in the classic mode that changed the monitor resolution, and a weird thing happened, the resolution changed back to 1024 x 768 but all of the icons on the OS X desktop remain *huge*, so big that you can only fit about 10 icons in the whole desktop. I have tried Monitor settings, Global icon size settings (under the "Views" preferences) and everything else I could think of. Restarts (from 9.2.1 or 10.0.4) do not correct the problem, and any new folders are created with huge icons. Can one "rebuild the desktop" in 10.0.4, or is there a "preference file" that can be discarded? Do you think this situation will correct itself when I load 10.1? Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -David ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Sep 2001 00:27:03 -0400 From: Ilyse Kazar To: Subject: Pop-up menu in Finder On Wed, 26 Sep 2001 14:30:38 -0400, The Info-Mac Network wrote: >What's wrong with putting an alias of your HD on the Apple Menu.
